Implementation of LWM2M Object 9 Softwaremanagement

Hi all,
I would like to connect an LWM2M device to the Cumulocity IoT platform. The device must have the ability to update the software installed on the device and LWM2M firmware in the modem. In addition, there should be the possibility to update a third software package.

It is possible to use the LWM2M Object 5 to update the modem firmware. The update process is implemented in the Cumulocity.

For the other two software packages, you could use the LWM2M Object 9 software management. Unfortunately, as far as I know, the use of the object is not implemented in the Cumulocity.

What is the best way to extend the Cumulocity’s ability to use the LWM2M Object 9? Is there perhaps already a preferred approach or the intention to integrate the functionality into the platform?

Hi Thomas,

As of now there is no automatic Software management support in Cumulocity’s LwM2M integration out of the box with LwM2M Object 9.

However, you can still send the appropriate operations using LwM2M shell operations to the device to do the software management yourself.
